    How do I buy a policy?

    What is my Portal?

    Your Portal is your personal online space. It is where we show you the information gathered by the in-tele-box, including how many miles you have used and how many remain. You can also see how many Bonus Miles you have earned, buy Top Up Miles, and access your policy documents and any saved quotes.

    How do I add a named driver to my policy?

    Please note: there is a £25 fee if you add or remove any named drivers on your policy. Fees will be subject to Insurance Premium Tax where applicable

    When will I receive my renewal price?

    You will receive your renewal documents by email, post and via Your Portal 21 days before your policy expiry date. You can find your policy expiry date on Your Car Insurance Schedule in Your Portal.

    How can I get proof of my No Claim Discount (also known as No Claims Bonus)?

    Some insurers may accept your Renewal Statement of Fact as proof of No Claim Discount. This will be automatically posted and emailed to you, and uploaded to Your Portal as part of your renewal invitation, 21 days before your policy expiry date. Alternatively, you can request proof of NCD by emailing us at ncd@insurethebox.com with your full name and policy number, or calling us on 0333 103 0000.

    How do I change my details?

    You must tell us straight away about any changes that may affect your policy. Please give us a call on 0333 103 0000 or speak to one of our agents via Live Chat on Your Portal.

    Please note: this may result in an increase or decrease in premium. The following fees will apply for policy changes:

    • £90 if you change your car
    • £25 if you change your address, or add/remove a driver to/from your policy

    If you make more than one change at the same time you will only have to pay one fee – whichever is the highest.

    These fees will be subject to Insurance Premium Tax.

    Can I insure both my cars with insurethebox?

    Yes – you can do this by arranging separate insurethebox policies for each car. We will fit our in-tele-box to each vehicle for you and you can continue to receive a No Claim Discount against each car.

    Where are my documents?

    Your policy documents will be delivered online and you can access them via Your Portal. You can log in via this link, through www.insurethebox.com, or via the email we sent you when you took out your policy with us. It is important that you:

    • Check the documents are accurate. If you need to correct or update any information please contact us immediately.
    • Print the Certificate of Motor Insurance as soon as possible. You need to keep this safe for future reference.

    What do I do if I want to sell my car?

    If you sell your car, we will switch off the box remotely so it no longer transmits data. We can remove the box if you or the new owner requests it.

    If you buy a new car, you can transfer your cover onto the new vehicle and we can fit a new box. Please note: changing your car may result in an increase or decrease in premium.There is a £90 fee if you change your car. Fees will be subject to Insurance Premium Tax where applicable.     What happens if I cancel my policy?

    You can cancel your private car insurance policy at any time by contacting us in advance of the date you wish to cancel.  You can find out more about this in your Private Car Policy Document which can be accessed via Your Portal.

    We will charge you on a proportionate basis for either the period of cover you have received or the miles you have used, whichever amount is the higher.

    If your policy is cancelled and an in-tele-box has not been fitted to your car, the cancellation fee will be £30. If your policy is cancelled and an in-tele-box has already been fitted to your car, or had been fitted to a car you previously insured with us, the cancellation fee will be £80. These fees will be subject to Insurance Premium Tax where applicable.

    You must return the Certificate of Motor Insurance immediately or otherwise advise us by email that the Policy to which the certificate relates has ceased to have effect.
